Review: Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof Womens (Part 1)

As I announced on Thursday, I will be departing for Iceland next month for five very full days of adventuring. After booking and everything, and getting super excited, I realized that I in no way owned proper foot wear for a glacier walk…. my normal travel wear of flip flops just wasn’t going to cut it…

Luckily, Planet Shoes had the answer and hooked me up with this great pair of Merrell Shoes. The Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof should keep my feet warm and toasty and well supported thanks to them being both water proof and ankle height. Totally a huge improvement on flip flops.

I was able to strap them on and trek around my apartment for an hour this week and they feel great. Definitely feel very secure and sturdy. Thanks to Planet Shoes online review section, I was able to determine that this pair of shoes does run a little small, so I order half a size up which fits perfectly (including a pair of thickish socks which will be necessary for the cold weather).

Obviously, most hiking boots are not meant for indoor apartment treking. I feel bad for all the poor hiking shoes trapped in some closet, never living up to their full potential. Luckily, my shoes will not face this depressing fate. Nope. They will be tagging along to Iceland where I will test them out “in action” and report back with a full review.

So stay tuned. And, in the meantime, check out Planet Shoes and their full array of shoes. Not only will they outfit your feet, they also partner with several wonderful charities and other organizations which you can read about here.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary pair of Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof boots from Planet Shoes in exchange for this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
