And so another month comes to an end and now its officially May, which is exciting because as you know I will be heading to Iceland in just a few short weeks. I am super excited for all the fun, icy adventures we will be having, and I’ll be back soon to update you with all of that information. But, for now, its time to look back on April and recap what was going on here at L’appel Du Vide.
L’appel Du Vide Highlights
This month I began a new feature of reviewing travel products and services that might be of interest to my readers. I started off by reviewing a line of pickpocket proof travel clothing by the Clever Travel Companion and then reviewed a pair of hiking boots that I will be wearing on my upcoming trip. I also reviewed a new hotel booking web site which makes it easy to compare amenities offered by various accommodation options.
A lit of the products and services I recommend can be found on my new Travel Recommendation Page.
This month, I also talked about a few places I would like to travel in the future. The first, Turkey, is a place I’ve been to before but would love to return to. Sometimes you don’t experience everything a location has to offer on your first visit. Next, I posted about my dream trip to Australia, a place I’d love to see someday.
Blog News
The big news this month was my blog redesign which included the addition of a custom header and “social media” buttons. You can also see the new header on my facebook page. (Feel free to give it a “like” while you are over there!)
Feel free to drop me a comment to let me know what you think.
Other Travel Blogs
Here are some other blog posts that I enjoyed reading this month which you might want to check out:
- Hannah from Further Bound has booked her RTW tickets. She will start her trip later this year and I can’t wait to read about it!
- Katie from Katie Going Global has a great “behind the scenes” post about staying at hostels in the Soviet Union.
- Dave from What’s Dave Doing talks about his experience with panic of a possible Tsunami in Phuket after an earthquake hit near Thailand.
That’s all for this month. Stay tuned for a fun new feature that I will be adding to these monthly round-ups – more details later this month!
Hi Liz, thank you so much for the mention, I’m so glad you enjoyed my post – it certainly felt great to be able to write that one! I’m really loving the new look of your blog – you have done a great job. Have a great time in Iceland
Thanks Hannah!
