Happy End of March! This is going up a little late because I didn’t want to interrupt everyone’s favorite, Misadventure Monday! The weather was great in DC this month, we even hit 80 a few days. Also, the nice weather meant the appearance (and sadly rather quick demise) of the Famous Cherry Blossoms.
L’appel Du Vide Highlights
This month was all about San Francisco as I recounted to highlights of my trip at the end of February. First I covered my visit to the Muir Woods and Sonoma. Next I talked about some fun things to do around town such as Irish Coffees at the Buena Vista Cafe, Visiting the Sea Lions on the Pier, and checking out the Cable Car Muesum. Finally I wrapped up with a story about getting sick while traveling and an overall Budget Breakdown.
The “Big” blog news this month is that I finally got around to starting a Facebook Page. If you felt that you simply weren’t getting ENOUGH Liz with just a blog and twitter account, you now have the option to also hear about my life via Facebook.
Seriously though, go do me a favor and “Like” it.
If you just ignored my pathetic plea and you’re still reading, go back, click he link, and click “Like.” I promise, its fast and easy. (Just like your mom. Boom. Alright, I’m done.)
As always, if you want to follow the blog, the easiest method is just to sign up for automatic email updates. You know you want to. Go ahead and Subscribe to L’appel du Vide by Email!

Other Travel Blogs
Here is a short list of posts I enjoyed on other Travel Blogs:
- Anil, over at FoxNomad, did a fun series to pick the “best city” using a Match Madness style bracket and elimination. I won’t ruin the results for you, but you can check out the final score and all the action at his blog.
- Backpacking Matt shares an “Open Letter to 20-somethings” about why they should travel. I sometimes have a hard time explaining why I think its so important to see the world now, and he does a great job.
- Matt from Landlopers has a post about How to Spend a Long Weekend in Iceland. I’m not sure why I’m all about Iceland right now, but I’ve been loving reading about it.
- Kim from “So Many Places” is getting ready to start her RTW trip with a tour of all the national parks. You can read about her planning here.
That’s all for this month! Stay tuned this month for an exciting announcement about my next travel plans
